Spree River will rock you to sleep in this hostel boat near Berlin’s East Side Gallery.
Moored a mere 10 metres from the East Side Gallery and a short stroll from the Oberbaumbrücke, Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat Berlin is situated in a lively part of the city, on the borders of the Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg areas. The centrally located Mitte district can furthermore be reached in 10 minutes using public transport. Temporarily, the Western Comfort boat offering additional cabins is moored 100 meters from the Easter Comfort main boat.
Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat Berlin is a ship with three decks. The upper deck has an area where it is possible to pitch a tent in the summer months. Berlin Hostel Boat Eastern Comfort furthermore has a breakfast area and lounge. Every Wednesday guests have free entrance to the language party held here: a vibrant exchange of language and culture with live music. The multi-lingual staff can furthermore offer advice on the city’s hotspots and arrange a free boat trip on the Spree.
The lower deck of the Eastern Comfort has 16 single, double, triple and quadruple 2nd class rooms with portholes and built-in wardrobe. The 1st class cabins are located on the middle deck and have two large windows. They are available with a double bed or a single bed. Furthermore, all these cabins have en-suite bathrooms. There is also the Western Comfort boat offering 2nd class double and triple bed cabins with large windows and shared bathroom facilities.
Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat Berlin is situated on
the bank of the River Spree, near Oberbaumbridge, featured in the movie Lola
Rennt, and the East Side Gallery, the longest piece of the Berlin wall still standing.
The Kreuzberg and Friedrichhain districts are both nearby, offering various discos,
pubs and shops. Several metro stations can be reached on foot in a matter of
minutes, allowing you to access the rest of the city with ease.
This 1st Class cabin is carpeted, has two large windows and a built-in wardrobe. It is also equipped with the below listed amenities. A minibar and a television are also available on request.

The hostel serves a daily breakfast buffet between 08:30 and 11:00 with tea, coffee, orange juice, cheese and cold cuts, fruits, cereals and different kind of breads, for only EUR 5.00. There is no restaurant but the lounge serves drinks and snacks, such as chili con carne and nachos, from 15:00. Beers are on tap for EUR 2.50.
Important information & conditions:
- The hostel prefers cash payment. - Be aware that you sleep on a boat. The 2nd class double beds are not king size, but 2m x 1,20m. - Please notify the hostel in advance if you want an early check-out, especially if you stay at Western Comfort. - Guests at the Western Comfort always have to check-in at the Eastern Comfort first, where a refundable key deposit will be requested. This deposit will be refunded on the day of the departure, when the keys have been returned. - River view is not always guaranteed. Some cabins have a view on the Berlin Wall or the park. - The 1st class cabins have bed linen and towels included. For the other rooms, you can bring your own or rent towels and bed linen for EUR 5.00 per person per stay.
Please note: Spree river is being renovated on the western side. The Eastern and Western boats are moored side by side on the eastern side of the river for a number of months. Now you only have to walk for 1 minute after checking in.
