"Room was very good in what is a grand setting"

Pros: Room was very good in what is a grand setting.
Cons: Food and drink prices were far more than we were willing to pay.
30 euros for breakfast is just astonishing. 8 euros for a bottle of water. fine if you are on business expenses but not justifiable from your own money.

"The people who put the hotel together really knew what they were doing,..."

Pros: The people who put the hotel together really knew what they were doing, brilliant location, great hotel facilities.
Cons: For some reason, the cleaning staff, the mini bar and the people who check on them think its ok to bang the room doors when working. you can hear them working up and down the halls late morning and midday. yet i never heard other guests bang their room doors. also when i went downstairs to order a late night snack at reception, the staff member spoke through gritted teeth, obviously angry that i disturbed him. needless to say, i didnt order anything. all the other staff were totally brilliant.

Cons: This hotel pre authorised my credit card to the tune of well over 500 euros upon arrival though did not inform me of the amount then took the actual amount of 380 euros at check out.. this caused me great inconvenience and meant any remaining credit on my card was unavailable, a week later and i am still sorting this out with my credit card company which has completely marred what was an enjoyable weekend. i have been staying at sofitels all year and not had this problem which is where i will stay next time.

Pros: Lovely hotel well maintained.freindly professional staff.great location for all berlin.sound proofing in rooms good .
Cons: Shame that the garden has no proper seating for quiet time in fine weather and no bar service to this area either.
outragous price for water in room 8 euro.but this is a problem with all hotels in euro zone now,one for the eu parliament to sort out...
