Gruga Park Essen

Gruga Park is more than a typical park, it is a huge open expanse with wooded areas and many lengthy walkways that truly allow a visitor to get away from it all without, in fact, venturing too far from the city itself. Within the confines of Gruga Park, one can also find Essen’s famous Botanical Gardens, definitely worth a site in and of themselves. Children will enjoy the outing as well thanks to the many playgrounds that are available. Be warned, however, that due to the weather in the area, the park is only open from April to September.
