If there’s one thing that Germany is famous for, well, it’s beer. If there are two things Germany is famous for, they are beer, and storybook forests. Palatinate Forest is one of them. The town of Haunestein is an excellent place to mount an expedition into Palatinate forest. Within the woods, you’ll find three seperate areas: Northern Palatinate Forest, Middle Palatinate Forest, and Southern Palatinate Forest (known as The Wasgau). In the north, you’ll find the beautiful Lake Eiswoog and the Castle Hardenburg.

The mountainous terrain of the middle portion attracts motorcyclists, with its winding roads and beautiful view from the peaks, and the southern area is home to a number of castles, and the Devil’s Table, a natural rock formation bearing some resemblance to a craggy, dusty table.
