Visitors to the gate have two different options for how they can go about enjoying it. For those who are historically inclined, the interior of the gate is open to all visitors, and is full of authentic medieval artifacts and décor that has been painstaking preserved. Occasionally, the city of Speyer will make use of this fabulous location to hold local art exhibitions. The visitor who is more concerned with modern Speyer life, however, can ascend to the top of the tower in order to get the best view in town of the sprawling cityscape, from the old sections of town to the newest.
