Kurfurtiches Palais Trier

It was originally built in the 18th century as the home of an archbishop, Johann Philipp von Walderdorff. Since then, however, it has served many different functions. Today, it works as the administrative offices of Trier, and as such, visitors are not allowed inside. There’s still plenty to see here, however, as the entire exterior is covered with wonderful statuary of figures from classical mythology and literature. In addition, the Palais sits amidst a beautiful garden that visitors are encouraged to stroll through.
