Hotels near Barbaratherme Roman Baths in Trier - Best deals & budget rates!

One of the two Roman baths that populate the area along with the Kaisertherme Roman baths, the Barbaratherme Roman baths are another of Trier’s many attractions dedicated to preserving the history of the region’s era of Roman dominion. For those visitors to the area who are looking for something to do that’s interesting and offers a great insight into the history of the city, a tour of Trier’s many historical sights is certainly in order, and the Barberatherme Roman baths should be one of your first stops.

Built right next to the Mosel river, these baths are nowhere near as well preserved as the admittedly ruinous Kaisertherme baths, but are worth visiting still for the fact that their heating systems and underground channels are almost completely intact from ancient days. All of the above ground structures, however, were intentionally demolished in the 18th century. Over the years, the baths served their intended purpose, and then as homes to the poor during the Middle Ages.
