Saxony (Province) Hotels and Accommodation

Saxony is a state located in the eastern part of Germany and has as its capital the city of Dresden. The area covered by the state seems to have been inhabited since prehistoric times; structures called “circular ditches” associated with archeological remains and dating to the 5th millennium BC have been found here. Thanks to this rich history, the state boasts a wealth of historical monuments that make tourism in Saxony quite popular. The two cities with the most popular Saxony sights are Dresden and Leipzig. In Dresden, check out the Museum für Völkerkunde Dresden, or the Museum of Ethnology, as well as the Dresden Castle and the Hofkirche, the royal church. In Leipzig, check out St. Thomas’ Church and the old City Hall. These major cities also offer some of the best shopping in Saxony.
