Bad Elster Hotels and Accommodation

"Contrary to what its name implies, Bad Elster is actually a very good place to visit in Germany. Bad means spa in German, and Bad Elster, with its natural springs, was designated the royal spa town of Saxony in 1848. Bad Elster lies on the border of Bavaria and the Czech Republic. The hills that surround it protect it from temperature extremes, making the weather nice all year.
Bad Elster is home to some beautiful architecture. The Alte Schloss, or Old Castle, is located two kilometers north west of town. It is the remains of a twelfth century walled village. You’ll also find more modern architecture, here, too. Königliche Kurhaus, one of the spa buildings is a great example of early 20th century neo-classic architecture, and the church of St.-Trinitatis-Kirche is a beautiful Gothic revival style church.
