The German city of Meissen is quite famous for its industry of manufacturing porcelain and there is a factory commemorating this located in the city called the Porcelain Factory Museum. The Albrechtsburg castle located in the same city as the museum was set up as a porcelain factory in the year 1710 but moved to its new location in the year of 1865. Although the factory was used only to manufacture porcelain for many years it is now home to the Porcelain Factory Museum.
This museum is a unique and fun experience for anyone who enjoys learning about how things work. While visiting the museum you get to not only see how porcelain making is done but also after the demonstrations are complete you get to try it for yourself. When you finish the tour you can look at all the lovely porcelain items on display and then visit the souvenir shop.
