In the lovely town of Kiel exists a museum of rural life from the 16th through the 19th centuries. The museum consists of old farm buildings and barns from all around the region of Schleswig Holstein. The museum is called the Schleswig Holsteinisches Freilichtmuseum and is located in the south of Kiel. The farms provide information to the visitors on how life was back then and all the things one had to do to survive.
The museum also has a wonderful dairy a bakery and mills to go through and tour. This museum is about exploration and learning and is a wonderful activity to do outdoors in the town. The buildings are in their original condition and truly provide a close look at the life in the years between the 16th and 19th century. This is not the only museum in the town of Kiel but it is certainly one of the most interesting.
