When taking a vacation to the city of Weimar in Germany it is a good idea to go to the north about five miles to the Buchenwald Concentration Camp. This concentration camp is a very important part of the history of Germany. The building is home to a museum which tells all about what exactly happened there during the time it was running. The concentration camp was run and set up by the Nazi Party from the years of 1937 until the year 1945.
Well over fifty four thousand people were murdered at this camp during the time it was running. This memorial is there to commemorate all those who served there and lost their lives. This is one of the places you need to go to get a close view of the history of this large concentration camp. Weimar is a place full of attractions and this camp is not too far from the city.
