If you have had your fill of the usual hustle and bustle of the city and you want to take a break from it, then you can head on to Palio Faliro, which is one of the major attractions in Athens. As a seaside suburb that is just a few minutes away from the centre of the city, the Palio Faliro is the place where you can take a walk along the Flisvos Marina or indulge in a swim.
One of the attractions in Athens that can be found in Palio Faliro is the Averof Ship. Permanently moored at the Flisvos Marina, this awesome battleship was used during the Balkan Wars between 1912 and 1913. The war was fought to gain freedom for Greece. The interiors of this historically significant ship have been converted into a museum, which showcases a great number of memorabilia from the Grecian conflicts during the beginning of the 20th century.
