Panathinaiko Stadium Athens

Situated right in the very heart of the city, this stadium went down the history of the Olympic games as among the venues of the 1896 Olympic Games, which was the first ever held for the modern Olympics. Aside from this great historical value, the stadium is also the only one in the whole world that is constructed entirely out of marble. These two reasons alone are enough to make this stadium among the greatest Athens attractions. But, the stadium still serves its purpose even during the most recent Olympics in Athens, which was in 2004. Then, the stadium was made as the site for the archery events and the finishing point for the Marathon event.
