There are so many things to do in Athens, and one of these is discovering the many treasures found in the Acropolis. Being one of the greatest attractions in the city, the Acropolis has so many wonderful offerings up its sleeve, one of which is the Beule Gate.
As the entrance of the Acropolis, the Beule Gate was constructed using materials from the Nikias monument and several other structures during 280 BC. Named after a French archaeologist from the 19th century who uncovered its existence, the gate was part of a defense structure and it is flanked with two towers. It is set on Propylaia's axis of symmetry and joined together with a wide marble staircase that was constructed during the rule of Emperor Septimius Severus. One of the things to do in Athens that you should include in your plans is discovering the lower part of this staircase which has survived up to this very day.
