The Athens University of Economics and Business is one of the most important universities in the country. As such, there are many people who consider visiting this place as one of the most worthwhile activities in Athens that can be done. The university does not only have a great history as a school, but also a firm standing in the educational platform of the country.
Originally founded in 1920, the university was then known as the Athens School of Commercial Studies. In the year 1926, it was renamed Athens Schools of Economics, and then it was given its present name in the year 1989. As the third oldest educational institution for higher education in Greece, the university used to have only three departments, which are Business Administration, Economics and Statistics and Informatics, but now, it has 21 postgraduate programs as well as eight undergraduate programs. Learning of these programs is one of the significant activities in Athens that both locals and tourists should try to do.
