After a hot summer's day of sightseeing and shopping, you may want to go to the National Garden to relax. This place is considered one of the great contributors to the tourism of Athens. Located adjacent to the Parliament building, the garden was created in the year 1839. There is a sundial at the entryway of the garden as well as a row of large palm trees that are known to be centuries old.
Once you get to the National Garden, you can continue with your sightseeing. You will also find a tiny botanical museum here that features fascinating choices of seeds and plants as well as a children's library, a duck pond, a playground and a cafe for refreshments. One of the attractions in the garden that also comprise the tourism of Athens is the gardens that skirt the splendid Zappion Hall. This hall is said to date way back to the year 1888. There are many Athenians as well as tourists who come to this place for leisurely evening strolls.
