With the aim to promote its tourism, the hotels in Gouvia are located quite near to a number of the town's attractions. This makes it very accessible for tourists to head on to the grand attractions that catch their fancy like the Monastery of Vlakherna, the Canal d'Amour, the Kanoni and the Pelekas Beach, all holding great treasures. Ask your Gouvia hotel for a tour.

A revenue earner for the tourism of Gouvia, the villa was constructed during 1890 for the Empress Elizabeth of Austria. This was believed to have been a commemorative structure for her son Rudolf, after he died of suicide. Neoclassical in its architectural style, the villa showcases a great number of motifs and statues, both in the interiors and exteriors, that are closely linked to Achilles. Even the gardens hold several statues that were commissioned to be made by the Empress herself. One of these is the famous piece by German sculptor Herter, the Dying Achilles. While an area in the villa is now housing a museum, its second floor also holds a casino. You may find some good Gouvia accomodations around here.
