Egiali Greece, sometimes known as Gallia, is a small village in the municipality of Mires. Easily accessible by car or bus, the village is certainly charming. The village suffered under German oppression during World War II, but today, you can still find some of its ancient buildings still standing, such as the Old Church of the Virgin Mary, built in 852 AD. The village is somewhat on the tiny side, with just over one thousand residents, most of them being farmers.
There aren’t a lot of hotels in the area, unfortunately. Other than a few hostels and rooms to rent, it’s slim pickings. However, there are one or two really good, cheap hotels. You’ll want to check here at EasyToBook.com to find them if you don’t want to spend the night on somebody’s couch. The village does tend to get its share of villagers, either stopping in, or just passing through.
