The third largest Greek island, located in the north east of the Aegean Sea, Lesbos is a wonderful place to visit. On the western tip of the island is the Petrified Forest; a place of beauty and of historical and geographical interest. This can be visited by members of the public, and there are places to grab refreshments from within, making the Petrified Forest a great day out on your vacation. The hot springs are another attraction that brings tourists to Lesbos and the past that comes with these is very interesting to many people. The Theophilos Museum, close to Vario, may be of interest to people who want to learn about history, also. Great beaches can also be found in Lesbos for those who simply want to lounge, such as Agios Isidoros, which is the 7th best beach in Greece and home to wonderful underwater rock formations, crystal clear water and interesting sea life, making it a perfect place to snorkel.
