Part of the Cyclades Island Chain, Tinos Island is the home of beaches, churches, a sacred shrine and marble. You cannot stay a weekend. Tinos Island demands more time to explore its natural and fabricated constructions. If you want, you can use the island as a base to visit other nearby Cyclades Islands, including Mykonos, Paros and Náxos. You can venture to the southern beaches of Kiónia and its archaeological find of the Santuary of Poseidon and Amphitrite. You can also visit the museum containing a history of Tinian artists at Pýrogos. Tourists also leave their Tinos Island hotels to go to the beaches at Portó or to make a pilgrimage to the sacred shrine in the church Panayía Evangelístra in Tinos Town.
