Third largest of the Ionian Islands, also known as Zante, is Zakynthos. Most people have seen one of the biggest attractions of Zakynthos in photographs; Smuggler’s Cove. Smuggler’s Cove is a shipwreck located on a small cove and many tours visit it in the warmer months. Scuba diving attracts many people to the island, many of which want to see the loggerhead turtles, known as Caretta Caretta. To the north of Zakynthos, you will find the blue caves which are spectacular and offer an amazing scuba diving or snorkeling experience, or if you are not keen on getting wet, allow for some awesome photo opportunities. If you are looking for a gorgeous beach where you can simply lie in the sun, Alikes is one of the best known beaches in the island. Alikes is a sandy beach and if you like water sports, these can be done here. If you are looking for more culture, you may prefer to visit the Zakynthos Museum of Post-Byzantine art.
