    Grande Terre Details

Grande Terre is part of the French Antilles of Guadeloupe. There are two islands, Basse-Terre and Grand Terre. Grand Terre is the flatter of the two. It is low-lying with cultivated fields for bananas, sugar cane, coffee, vanilla and other crops. At Basdu Fort, you can spend time at the Aquarium or the 18th century fort, complete with ramparts, shady gardens and wonderful views of the sea. While on Grand Terre, be sure to spend time visiting Le Gosier.

Le Gosier is a resort center on Pointe-à-Pitre. Le Gosier tourism touts its location with 8 km of sandy but narrow beach. This is one of several water-related attractions; here you can participate in water sports and strolls along the beach. Other things to do here include visiting Fort Fleur de lpee. This is part of Le Gosier culture and history. You can view the bay and wander the battlements. Le Gosier sights include the Ilet du Gosier, complete with lighthouse, and the Auberge de la Vielle Tour. This structure is built around an 18th century windmill. You can go shopping in the Boulevard Charles-de-Gaulle.
