On the Great Hungarian Plain is the county of Békés. This is agricultural flatland. The county seat is Békécsaba. Some tourists come to Békés to visit this city’s cathedral or to take part in the Kolbász Sausage Festival. Other visitors head for Gyula, near the Romanian Border. Here, they admire the Art Noueau structures. The 19th century Ladics Hous, for example, is well preserved. If you adopt this course, you will require more than a weekend. Békés, in itself, is worth more than two days exploration. In Árpad, you can enjoy the thermal waters. There is Slovak House and the 14th century Castle in Gyula. This structure is the only brick castle found intact in Hungary. The Castle Theater performs in the courtyard.
