Definitely one of the best cities in Hungary is Budapest, known for its legendary Danube River. The river Danube divides the city into two parts, the Buda and Pest. The Buda is the western side of Danube and the eastern side is Pest. The Pest end of the city is a bustling commercial area while the Buda end is one more of the cultural and historical end. In this part of city, you’ll find the Castle Hill where century old structures are built and towering among them is the Royal Palace. Going from Buda to Pest and back is by the Chain Bridge which was built in 1849. Extensively used, this is the oldest bridge that connects the two clusters of the city. If you’re looking for a religious experience, the city is also home of the famous St. Stephen Basilica, a neo-classical church. The church houses the mummified hand of St. Stephen. Budapest is also home to the 2nd largest synagogue in the world.
