It has long been traditional to dedicate buildings parks, and all kinds of other things to famous people or those who have had a huge impact on a community’s history or growth. This is how the Clark Adam Square in Budapest Hungary came into being. Adam Clark was a British engineer who was instrumental in building permanent bridge in Budapest the Chain Bridge or as it is otherwise known Lanc Hid. The bridge was completed in the 1840’s and was later destroyed by the retreating German troops in WWII. Fortunately the bridge has since been restored to its former glory.

The Clark Adam Square is actually a very busy traffic turnabout at the end of the bridge on the Buda side of the city. It seems fitting that this square be named for the bridge’s creator and located next to this famous bridge. You shouldn’t miss the opportunity to see this attraction and see how the Hungarian people repay someone who had such a huge influence on their city.
