When you find yourself exploring the Northern parts of Hungary, you have to absolutely find the time to visit the Aggtelek National Park. This amazing place was legally recognized as a national landmark in 1985 and features the largest known stalactite cave in all of Europe. Be sure to look for the Baradla Cave while you are there. Located in the Aggtelek karst region, this park is home to many different plant and animal life forms and draws thousands of visitors every year.
A few other interesting things to keep in mind about the Aggtelek National Park are that it contains over 198 square km to explore. You will be able to find all kinds of things to do on that land, from the traditional hiking and exploring, to the more extreme activity of spelunking or cave exploring.
