Music lovers and anyone interested in the rich history of Budapest, Hungary are sure to find themselves visiting the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum. As you can tell from its name, this museum is dedicated to the life and work of the great composer as well as his time spent in the gorgeous city of Budapest in the mid to late 1800’s. The museum itself is a detailed reconstruction of the last flat or apartment the amazing man lived in while in Hungary. It is noted he lived in the flat from the years 1881 to 1886.
Not only is the setting of the museum wonderful, but the items found inside are fantastic and actually belonged to Liszt personally. His instruments, music scores, and several personal belongings are contained inside the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum. Liszt’s books and various pieces of furniture are part of the exhibit as well. Even if you don’t know anything about classical music or the composer himself, you won’t be disappointed with this site seeing excursion.
