Bonyhád Hotels and Accommodation
Hungary’s central Bonyhád is home to many fine gardens. It also hosts the Völgység museum. Walk over to it from your hotel in Bonyhád. It will provide you with an excellent overview of the local culture and history. You can find out about the local minorities. You can also visit two other “museums.” One devotes itself to retaining the memory of Mór Perczel. He was a renowned General in 1848-1849. A Freedom Fighter, this section contains furniture from his residence and some memorabilia. There is also a workshop on blue dying.
Not far from many hotels in Bonyhád, is another museum – the School Museum. It contains various prehistoric artifacts. These include tools from the different eras. Bronze Age flint tools are part of the collection. There are also exhibits dedicated to the Middle Ages and a Folk Art display from the 1940s and 1950s. For more about Folk Art, head over to the Hungarian Enamel and Metal Ware Factory. It has been in existence since the early 1900s. You can see old documents and artifacts from the first factory (1913). From here, you can wander over to the House of Germans in Hungary. It is a simple peasant Swabian house. In the first room, you can see traditional costumes and furniture. In the stables, sweet corn storage room and granary, there is typical farm equipment on display. From here, return to your Bonyhád hotel. Relax before you go to see the late Baroque Lutheran Church (1797-1800). This is an elegant church, slender lines with a Rococo interior.
