Among Reykjavik’s collection of galleries, Kling og Bang stands apart for a number of reasons. The gallery is run by a collective of eight artists, each with their own background and experience, which makes for a dynamic selection of exhibitions in a unique setting. Kling og Bang opened in 2003 with the aim of introducing new Icelandic artists, as well as international artists to the Icelandic public.

Since it’s opening, Kling & Bang has hosted scores of exceptional works – the most famous of which being the exhibition and parade featuring Jason Rhodes and Paul McCarthy. The gallery’s operators work closely with artists to create unique exhibitions that engage the public interest. The gallery, in partnership with the National Bank of Iceland, also runs a large studio known as Klink and Bank. The Klink and Bank facility houses studios for 140 of Iceland’s established, and up-and-coming visual artists, musicians, designers, theatre groups, bands and other creatives.
