        Jökulsárgljúfur National Park in northern Iceland houses some of the most interesting natural features of the Icelandic landscape, including Asbyrgie Canyon, Holmatungur, the Dettifoss waterfall, and the red mountain Rauðholar. There are a number of volcanic mountains and stunning canyons packed with lava formations and jagged rubble left from eruptions thousands of years ago. Jökulsárgljúfur National Park also provides a stunning backdrop for scores of different birds and other indigenous species of wildlife.
