One of the most distinctive landmarks in Reykjavik is Perlan – The Pearl. The building sits atop an array of hot water storage tanks on Öskjuhlíð hill. Reykjavik’s top spot of a view over the city is a revolving restaurant situated at the top of the Perlan complex. With an upscale menu, and prices to match, it’s not surprising that the Perlan restaurant is considered to be one of Reykjavik’s best dinner destinations.
Other attractions at The Pearl include The Wintergarden, with 10,000 cubic metres of exhibition space suitable for art shows, concerts or expos. There is a full-service cafeteria, an acclaimed souvenir shop, a gourmet food shop and a unique Chirstmas shop offering holiday decorations and treats the whole year round. If you’re interested in getting a closer look at the view, there is an observation deck just outside the cafeteria. And, of course, the Pearl houses Reykjavik’s top Saga museum, Saga Perlunner.
