After an early morning on the course, head to the local market. Soak up the scenery and sample the local food. The heart of Macroom is the central square. Here, you can see excellent examples of Georgian architecture. There are several Georgian residences remaining. The Market House is a solid reminder of 19th century architecture. You can also visit the small museum. It houses a collection of local and regional materials. Many of the artifacts relate to the folk traditions of the area. Later, wander along the meandering Sullare River or head off to visit the ruins of the local castle. This Medieval structure has an impressive gatehouse marking the entryway.
