    J.F. Kennedy Memorial Park Details

The J. F. Kennedy Memorial Park, a beautiful attraction in the City of Galway, was given to the Irish government and was developed as a memorial park that commemorates the former president of the United States. The building was, before being concerted to a memorial park, an estate on the slopes of Coillte that overlooks the river Barrow. This park is the same place that President Kennedy addressed the people of Galway when he received the freedom of the city in 1963.On the occasion of his visit to Ireland at that time, President Kennedy joined eighth Irish President Eamon de Valera to form the American Irish Foundation. This was sparked by the need to foster connections between Americans of Irish descent and the country of their ancestry. Kennedy furthered these connections of cultural solidarity by accepting a grant of armorial bearings from the Chief Herald of Ireland. This is a great place for the visitor to go through, as it has been host to one of the world's most respected leaders.
