      The Slieve League Cliffs Details

The Slieve League Cliffs are the highest cliff face in Europe, and is spectacular not just for its sheer elevation but also for its beautiful color. At sunset, the rock is streaked with changing shades of red, amber and ochre. This great attraction can be found in Donegal, from Carricks bumpy but well enduring road. Beyond Teelin, the road then changes to become a series of alarming switchbacks before it reaches Bunglass Point and Amharc Mor, whereby it is normally called the Good view. From this good view one can see the whole of Slieve League, its cheer cliffs rising dramatically out of the ocean. It is highly recommended that only experienced hikers should attempt the treacherous ledges of One Mans Pass. This is the part of a trail which mounts westwards out of Teelin to the highest point of Slieve League, where one can admire the beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. For a less strenuous but safer and equally rewarding excursion, it is best to pay a boat-owner from Teelin to take you out to see Slieve League from the sea.
