The Mill Restaurant welcomes one with a warm scent of wood smoke on the air as one approach past the stone statuary, which is softened by a scented pink rose. Its welcoming room is complemented by the massive front door, known as the Lyons Den; a fireplace; comfortable leather furniture and a portrait of a lady to welcome arriving guests. This ambience, that is created by this attraction located in Dunfanaghy, fairly rigueur in these parts of the country.
The restaurant is overseen by the celebrity chef Richard Corrigan, who is renowned for his dedication to local and artisan foods. The Styles of the fine dining Mill Restaurant and the informal Café La Serre are based on his London success stories, Lindsay House and Bentleys, respectively. Richard Corrigan is often in the kitchen himself, along with the head chef Paul Carroll. The restaurant speciality is the well worth starving for: the fillet of Tipperary Hereford beef with seared foie gras and Perigord truffle. Yum!
