If you want to see history in the making then why not book a budget hotel in Dublin next to the Lansdowne Road Stadium. The stadium has now had its last match played in it, and is being developed into a much bigger stadium which will be called the Aviva Stadium.

Lansdowne Road Stadium was originally dreamed into existence by Henry Wiliam Dunlop, who was an athlete himself and organised the very first All Ireland Athletics Championship. It has hosted many sports including athletics, cricket, croquet, artery and tennis. It later started hosting rugby matches, which it became well known for, despite still being used for other sports including football. The new stadium will seat many more people and have no standing space.
