Lansdowne Road Stadium was originally dreamed into existence by Henry Wiliam Dunlop, who was an athlete himself and organised the very first All Ireland Athletics Championship. It has hosted many sports including athletics, cricket, croquet, artery and tennis. It later started hosting rugby matches, which it became well known for, despite still being used for other sports including football.
