If you enjoy quiet, relaxing walks, then the Stardust Memorial Park in Dublin should be a priority. The park was opened in 1993 and dedicated, to the victims of the St. Valentine's Day fire at the Stardust Nightclub in the Artane area of Dublin. During this tragic fire, 48 people were killed and an additional 214 people were injured. The park was designed and funded by a combination of agencies and organizations, including the Stardust Victims Committee, local government and Dublin City Council.
Although it is a sad memory for many people, the beauty of the park is a true tribute. The central area of the 20-acre park features a life sized bronze statue of a dancing couple. Surrounding the statue is a beautiful pool, with 48 jets that provide a continuous fountain. There is also a pond complete with swans, children's playground area and well maintained walking paths through beautiful landscaped grounds. This is an ideal picnic spot for the whole family to enjoy as well.
