Drogheda Hotels and Accommodation
Drogheda means “Bridge of the Ford” and lies on the northeast Irish coast where the River Boyne meets the Irish Sea. Close to Drogheda is Monasterboice Monasatic Site, which was founded in the year 500 by St Buithe. Partially destroyed by fire in 1097, you can visit two preserved churches, the cemetery and round tower. Drogheda abounds in historic architectural tourist attractions and there are plenty more to be visited in the surrounding countryside.
