The Museum of the Jewish Diaspora is located on the spacious campus of Tel Aviv University. Its exhibits tell the tale of what happened to the Jewish, Hebrew-speaking peoples after the Romans forced them to leave the land of Israel 2,500 years ago. Displays incorporate dioramas, films, computer programs, music, and other multimedia presentations. Jewish music from all over the world and from across millennial is available to listen to. There's also a genealogy center.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the diverse cultures of many different Jewish, Hebrew-speaking peoples. Amazingly enough, even after thousands of years, the different Jewish communities, separated by thousands upon thousands of miles from one another and from their geographical place of origin still have much in common with one another. They were able to preserve their unique language and culture over thousands of years. At the same time, the regional influences of wherever the different groups of Jews happened to settle are obvious.
