What you need to know before traveling to Alessandria

Alessandria is a province in the northern Italian region of Piedmont; besides the capital city, also named Alessandria, the province contains a number of other important cities, including Acqui Terme and Casale Monferrato. Alessandria offers tourists a wealth of artistic and architectural monuments, including buildings like Palazzo Ghilini, dating to the 1700's, Palazzo del Municipio, with a very characteristic clock and Palazzo Cuttica, also dating to the 1700's. Moving away from the capital city, the city of Casale Monferrato is also worth a visit; here, you’ll find a medieval city center, complemented by streets that date to Renaissance times. Check out the Cathedral of Sant’Evasio, the Tower of Santo Stefano, the Baroque church of Santa Caterina, the Synagogue and the Museum of Jewish Art. For some relaxation, visit the city of Acqui Terme, famous since Roman times for the healing properties of its thermal waters.
