The town of Serra de’ Conti is about 40 km from the eastern coastal town of Ancona. It is part of the Ancona province and the Marche Region of Italy. Nearby are the towns of Arcevia, Barbara, Montecarotto and Ostra Vetere. Even though it is inland, Serra de' Conti is still visited by many for its proximity to what some consider to be the best beach on the Adriatic – Spiagge de Veluto at Senigallia. The town has a wonderful example of medieval walls that have been restored to their former 13th century glory. In one of the porticos, murals were discovered and have also been restored. The winding streets have houses that are built out over the street as if they are trying to meet in the middle. Follow the cobbled streets in any direction to the city’s boundaries and enjoy a spectacular view over the countryside.
