Built in the latter half of the 18th century on the hillside above the city of Ascoli Piceno, Villa Cicchi boasts a wonderfully secluded position, at the center of an extensive park. On the façade, bearing witness to the villa's ancient past, a crest with the symbol of Mary represents the tie between the Angelini family, who owned the villa in the 18th century, and a religious order who worshipped the cult of the Madonna. The main entrance, dining room, and lounge are embellished with the works of the 19th century artist Raffaele Fogliari, whose ornate paintings span the spectrum of colors; from rich green, red, and gold, to the most delicate of pastel shades. Each and every room is individually appointed and decorated with pieces of beautifully restored, period furniture. Hotel Villa Cicchi is surrounded by an immense park, featuring dry stone walls, secular trees, fountains, stone benches; a quite idyllic place where to relax or lazing by the pool.Of certain interest, is Hotel Villa Cicchi's ancient wine cellar. The cellar, carved out of the travertine rock, extends underneath the entire building. Here, guests can admire an example of "vino cotto" dated 1845. The cellar is adorned with centuries-old farming equipment once used by the farm workers and owners of Villa Cicchi.High quality cuisine can be enjoyed in Villa Cicchi, with a selection of typical, (including organic), produce of the Marche regionVILLA CICCHI LOCATIONVilla Cicchi is situated in Ascoli Piceno, in the peaceful countryside typical of Italy's Marche region. Here, the area's celebrated olives are still cultivated according to age old methods; their cultivation favored by the presence of travertine in the soil, the principal material used in the buildings of Ascoli. Within easy driving distance one finds the Park of the Gran Sasso, the Sibillini mountains, and the Marche's much loved seaside destinations of San Benedetto del Tronto and Grottamare. This property has provided all content and is solely responsible for its accuracy.
