Tourists visiting the province of Bolzano, in northern Italy, should make an effort to stop into one of the most interesting sights in Badia (a town within the province), called Ciastel de Tor. The foundation walls of this picturesque castle, known for its tower, probably date to around the beginning of the 11th century. It was the seat of the lordship of Tor and was owned by various noble families, while in the 15th century it became a headquarters for the Bishop’s administrators. Today, the castle houses a very important museum dedicated to the Ladin people.
