Hotels in Brescia
The province of Brescia is found in the northern Italian region of Lombardy, or Lombardia in Italian. It is actually the largest province, by extension, of the region and houses numerous hills, a plain, three large lakes and three large valleys, along with a number of minor lakes and valleys. Among its lakes, it contains a large part of the south-western section of Garda Lake. Thanks to its variations in altitude and geology, the province of Brescia encompasses all the biomes of Europe; it also includes the largest Alpine glacier. The capital city of the province, also called Brescia, houses a number of historically important monuments; check out the Cathedral, built in the 11th century, and the Capitolium, one of the most important Roman ruins in the Lombardy region. If youre interested in ancient history, head over to the town of Capo di Ponte, known on an international level for the presence of rock art dating to 4000 BC. If you happen to find yourself in Lombardia for a weekend, Brescia could definitely be a place worth checking out.
