Several kilometers inland from the Tyrrhenian Sea, in Campania's Caserta Province, San Nicola la Strada is a town of nearly 20,000 that functions as an outer suburb of the sprawling Metropolis of Naples. Once chiefly agricultural, with vast plantations of tobacco and hemp, the area has become urbanized in the 1970s. As such, many hotels in San Nicola la Strada are relatively new.
