Catania Hotels and Accommodation
Catania is a province on the Italian island of Sicily, which houses the largest active volcano in all of Europe: Mount Etna. The volcano has created such particular geographical characteristics that the area is a protected natural park. Quite a bit of the province’s coastline is bathed by the Ionian Sea and the province is known for its characteristic beaches, some of which are actually made of black sand, or ash, from previous eruptions of Mt. Etna. Throughout the province you can go horseback riding and visit characteristic little historical towns. The capital of the province, also called Catania, is right on the water and is a popular tourist location both in the winter and summer, with beaches that are either made of black sand or large lava rocks.
As far as monuments, the city retains some of ancient Greek and Roman origin, as well as monuments from many other historical periods. Take a drive to the town of Bronte, about 40 minutes away, to try world famous pistachio delicacies. If you’re visiting the island of Sicily for at least a weekend, Catania is definitely a place you should check out. There are plenty of different types of hotels in Catania to suit everybody’s needs; there are also a number of discount hotels Catania offers for the budget conscious. Indeed, if you’d like to watch your spending while in Catania, cheap hotels are the way to go. A great place to start and end your search for Catania hotels is EasyToBook.com.
