Belpasso is a town of 21,841 inhabitants situated on the Italian island of Sicily, to the south of the main Italian peninsula. Unusual for Sicilian towns, much of Belpasso is built along a pre-planned grid. The streets do not wind around according to contingency and tradition, as they do in most old towns. Instead, they form a symmetrical square, with numbered streets criss-crossing one another at perpendicular angles. This design was conceived in the late 17th century by the master urban planner Michele Cazzetta, as part of Belpasso's ambitious reconstruction—the town had to be rebuilt because the eruption of Mt. Etna almost completely destroyed it in 1669. Before the volcano destroyed it, the town used to be called Malpasso. It was thought that changing the name to Belpasso would bring the town improved luck.

Most hotels in Belpasso are within walking distance from at least one of the town's many beautiful churches. The most notable of these churches are the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, and the Church of St. Anthony Abbot. Another Belpasso attraction is the so-called "Queen's Cistern," a 14th century water tank that used to be part of an estate belonging to Eleanor of Anjou, consort of the 14th century King Frederick III Sicily. The best way to book Belpasso hotels is through EasyToBook.com. The site lets users examine many discount hotels in Belpasso and other Belpasso cheap hotels all at once.
