Cetaro is an ancient town situated in Cosenza. Locals say that it was the first seaside town in the region, and it therefore has a long history. Between 1086 and 1810 the town belonged to the Benedictines of Montecassino. The name comes from the lemons that are grown in the surrounding countryside.
